Barbara Pace Michael's Obituary
Barbara Pace Michael, 59, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Germantown Methodist Hospital with her family at her side after losing her hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Fort Chaffee, AR, Barbara attended UT Martin and had a working career at Turner Dairy, Life Savers Inc, Nike, and then International Paper until she stopped to be a stay at home mother. Barbara professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she was an active and supportive member for 27 years. She loved her family, cooking, baking (especially for her grandchildren), sewing, reading, going to the movies, watching classic TV, putting puzzles together, and decorating the house for every holiday no matter the occasion. She kept her two grandsons during the week which brought her the biggest joy of all. Barbara was a devoted lover of animals, particularly concerned over the welfare of dogs and cats. She had one dog, Bailey, who passed away two months ago, and two loving cats, one of which was a stray that she could not turn away. She saved her newspapers and made a monthly run to the local animal shelter where she donated these for their use.
