Barbara M. Carter's Obituary
Barbara M. Carter, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, and is now rejoicing with her husband of 57 years, Richard H. Carter, who preceded her on December 10, 2013. Barbara is survived by her son, Richard “Lee” Carter, and daughter, Barbara "Barbie" Hardison. Barbara was a loving wife and mother and lived her life for the Lord. She was an active member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and anyone who met her loved her. She was also an active choir member at one time but even when she had to give up the choir, she sang constantly and did not care who heard her beautiful voice. In her heyday, her greatest joy was to sing with her husband, son and daughter in a quartet. She was also a voracious reader. She liked nothing better than to be sitting down in her favorite easy chair and reading a good murder mystery. Barbara retired as an RN on the cancer floor from Baptist Memorial Hospital in 2001. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation and service will take place at Memorial Park Funeral Home..
