Bannie Sandridge's Obituary
Bannie B. Sandridge,”Mama B”, 94, passed away peacefully in Memphis, March 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She led a wonderful life paying great interest to her family and enjoying the fun and festivities associated with her memberships in the Memphis Blues and Jazz Club, Red Hat Society and the Firestone Retirees organization. Family survivors include her daughters and favorite son-in-laws, Sandra Lamb and Don Lamb of Germantown and Bannie Kelly and Buddy Kelly of Knoxville; granddaughters, Amy Sowell and husband Trey and Donna Lamb; and great-grandchildren, Caroline Sowell and Speir Sowell. She is also survived by her sister, O’Dell Thorn of Nesbit, MS and several nieces and nephews. “Mama B” was born in Columbia Mississippi and lived many years in south Mississippi attending Forrest Academy before moving to Memphis and graduating from Humes High School. She began her work career in the computer department of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and retired in 1986. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 1:30 with the service to follow at 2:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Balmoral Presbyterian Church or the charity of their choice.
