Aubrey L. Kemp's Obituary
Aubrey L. Kemp, 85, of Memphis, TN moved into his heavenly home on November 9, 2024. Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Annie Kemp and his brother, Frank Kemp, all of Northport, AL. Aubrey is survived by his sister, Inez Bullock, and his brother, Ray (Micki) Kemp, all of Northport, AL. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Gledra Kemp. He also leaves behind daughters, Carin (Scott) Fuller of Memphis, TN and Lori (David) Goad of Walland, TN, grandchildren Alex (Shelbie ) Fuller of Rogersville, MO, Jenna (Matt) Singleton, Jessica Fuller, Anna Fuller all of Memphis, TN, and Johnie Goad of Knoxville, TN and three great grandchildren.
Aubrey graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School before joining the United States Air Force. After serving in Japan, he met the love of his life Gledra. He completed an additional tour in Turkey. After marrying, Aubrey earned a degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. Upon graduation, he began a career in Memphis, TN with the accounting firm of Haskins and Sells. He later joined Schering Plough and Orgill Brothers. After retiring from Orgill, Aubrey wrote Sunday School Bible teaching material for his church.
Aubrey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devout Christian, faithful servant, spiritual leader, and prayer warrior for his family. He lead his family in the Christian faith by his humble testimony, unwavering faith, and daily walk with the Lord. Even though he travelled to 17 different countries in his lifetime, he said he hadn’t seen it all until he saw Jesus.
Services for Aubrey will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Don Amburn. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Scott Fuller, Alex Fuller, Matt Singleton, David Goad, David Gatewood, and Bobby Brown lead by Glenn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Aubrey’s name to Wall of Grace Ministries or LeBonheur Children’s Hospital
