Brooke Pannell's Obituary
Brooke Pannell, 46, of Germantown, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on May 4th, 2025. Brooke was born on February 6th, 1979, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Karan Oswald (Joe) and Ray Nugent.
Brooke graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1997, then went onto the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences earning a Master of Science degree in speech language pathology.
Brooke married Eric Pannell on July 6th, 2002, at the Angel of Rose Hall in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Brooke and Eric had been married for 22 years and had three children, Luke 21, Ethan 19, Emma 17. Brooke and Eric were introduced by Eric’s mother, Debbie Pannell, and sister, Amy Robbins in November 2000. Brooke and Eric started dating in March of 2001, after attending a bible study together.
Brooke worked as a speech language pathologist at Germantown Speech Language Learning Clinic for the past 10 years. Clinic owner Nancy Massey and many of her colleagues shared that many clients loved collaborating with Brooke, as she was always meeting them where they were and providing care as a phenomenal therapist to work with. Brooke was highly trained in many techniques to include Interactive metronome and oral motor therapy.
Brooke was a history minor, she loved British history and television, she loved reading Jane Austen novels, and Agatha Christie murder mysteries. Brooke was a servant of God, while serving in woman’s prison ministry with the Life Church Memphis or while in Arkansas with the Kairos Torch for juvenile ministry. Brooke grew up playing softball, has always been a huge Arkansas Razorback sports fan, she enjoyed watching with her dad, Joe Oswald, and her brothers Nick Oswald, and Phillip Oswald.
Brooke and Eric are members of the Life Church Memphis, having attended there for 8 years. Brooke served in Kid’s Life, the woman’s prison ministry, and completed life leadership training.
Those remaining to cherish Brooke’s memory are spouse, Eric Pannell; children, Luke, Ethan, and Emma; parents, Karan and Joe Oswald, Ray Nugent; brothers Nick (Jennifer) Oswald, Phillip (Laura) Oswald; nieces, Addison, Emily, Charlee; nephew, Reese; in-laws Eddie (Debbie) Pannell, sister-in-law Amy Robbins, brother-in-law, Clint Pannell, and all her many friends and family she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Faye Norton, and Jetta Hickman.
Visitation will be held May 14th at 10:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Fireside Chapel, the memorial service will follow at 11:00am. Memorial donations, in Brooke’s memory, for the children’s college funds, may be sent to Memorial Park Funeral Home, in lieu of flowers.
A casual celebration of Brooke’s life will be held on May 31st at Lakewood Pavillion
