Arturo Sylvestre Inniss' Obituary
Arturo Sylvestre Inniss was born in Colon, Panama, on October 9, 1945,
to Claude and Violet Inniss. As a child, he enjoyed singing, being with his siblings,
and swimming. So much so he was able to swim miles doing the freestyle stroke
and was very good at the butterfly stroke. Arturo loved to read his bible, pray,
and spend time with his family. He excelled in amateur boxing, winning numerous fights
stopping short of professional boxing to join the armed service. Arturo graduated
from Escuela República Del Uruguay and continued his education in the United States Army.
Arturo furthers his education to Fresno City College, where he studied general courses.
Arturo Sylvestre Inniss was married to Rosalia Julia Boles Donaldson on November 19, 1971.
From this union, Arturo had four children, Antonio Inniss, Itzela Inniss, Loyda Inniss (who
proceeds in death), and Tyrone Inniss.
At 24, Arturo Sylvestre Inniss enlisted in the U.S Army, receiving numerous medals and
achievements. He was a Field artillery cannoneer specialist. Arturo was a brave and loyal
soldier who valued this service highly and attained the rank of Corporal (E-4). He received a
certificate from the United States Armed Forces Institute to acknowledge his achievement.
On February 23, 2022, Arturo Sylvestre Inniss, age 76, went home to be with his Lord.
Arturo Sylvestre Inniss leaves to cherish his Sisters' loving memory, Vilma Arroyo,
Idelia Dawkins, and Carola Miller. Brother, Anselmo Inniss. Nephews, Ramon Inniss,
George Inniss, Anselmo Anderson, Adrian Arroyo, Vincent Barrows, Alejandro Miller,
Benito Miller, Anselmo Inniss Jr., Rolando Inniss, Aliem Inniss, and Jamiel Inniss.
Nieces, Melida Anderson, Victoria Barrows, Angela Jones, Nila Barrows, Ursula Barrows,
Cheryl Barrows, Monica Barrows, Michel Dawkins, Deborah Banton, Renee Miller,
and Delia Jones. Children, Arturo Inniss Jr., Antonio Inniss, Tyrone Inniss, Gilbert Inniss,
Itzela Hampton, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins and friends.
Arturo Sylvestre Inniss was preceded by his father Claude Inniss and mother Violet Inniss,
brothers Jackie, Gilbert, and sisters Edith, Peggy, and Claudet Inniss. Loyda Omaida Inniss,
Daughter.
The funeral service will be held at 1 pm February 07, 2022, at Memorial Park Funeral Home
& Cemetery. Julio May, Jr. of Tabernaculo de Vida Cristiana will be officiating. Visitation will
be from 12 pm - 1 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at
Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 pm. Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery is handling
funeral arrangements. Reception for the family following graveside committal at 4248 Grey
Road, Memphis, TN 38119.
