Susan and I had many great evenings with Smitty and Louise at their house playing Trivial Pursuit with others from the VA Hospital staff back in the 80's. Smitty always laughed at his own stories as much as he laughed at yours. I'm glad we caught up with him and JoAnn a couple of years ago for a meal at Pancho's. He was a joy to be around.
My dear Smitty, it's so hard to believe that I can't just pick up the phone and tell you the
many things that have happened since you left us.. I wanted to do that so badly today!
You would be astonished at the calls, messages and other outpourings of love for you and
for those of us you left behind.. Everyone has been so kind and there's been a lot of tears
but the strange thing is that after the tears, almost everyone has a funny story about you
that makes us laugh. You brought so much joy to everyone especially me. Love You!!!
