Lefler (Jim) and her three children Jeremie Lefler Klingberg (Damien), Katie Lefler Nichols (James), Lindsey Lefler and her best friend Patricia Clark.
Arlene will be missed by her nieces, a nephew, and many friends.
Arlene did a magnificent leap into the arms of Jesus. She was a devout Christian and a member of Germantown Baptist Church. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She studied genealogy. Arlene attended Overton High School and graduated from Memphis State University with a Bachelor of Science, with focus on biology. She loved the Memphis Tigers! Go Tigers! She started her career as a biology teacher at Northside High school and was a Laboratory technician. After raising her children, she retired from Procter & Gamble as a sales representative.
She was the matriarch and protector of her family and loved her daughters and sons-in-law fiercely. Her yard is adorned with daffodils, her favorite flower, many of which belonged to her mother. She met her husband of 56 years at Shoney’s Drive-In when he, and his friends, turned her lime green Volkswagen Beetle sideways, so she could not leave the parking lot. He was swooning over her long, dark hair. From there they created a beautiful life together.
There will be a visitation on July 2, 2026, at 10am. A graveside service will be held on July 2, 2026, at 11am at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN with a reception following.
