Archie Lee Boyd's Obituary
ARCHIE LEE BOYD, On February 15 2012 at 10:05 a.m. Archie Lee Boyd, 86, went to join her LORD and SAVIOUR. Archie, originally from Booneville, MS, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and aunt. Archie graduated from high school and enjoyed her life as a Marine Corps wife and mother. In later life Archie ventured into the business world as co owner of “Up the Street” and “Archie’s Rock and Roll Café”. Family was her greatest joy. Dancing was a lifelong passion and through her affiliation with the Memphis Bop Club she fulfilled this desire and surrounded herself with friends. Archie was preceded in death by her husband Master Sgt. James V. Boyd, parents Mr. and Mrs. CC Winsett, Sister Charlene Shears, son James Donald Boyd, granddaughter Lisa Lee Chester, and nephew Robert Shears. Archie leaves a son Glenn Boyd and wife Melodee of Shelby County, a daughter-in- law Wanda Boyd of Denver Colorado, a grandson Chris Boyd and wife Carla of Denver, Colorado, grandchildren Kathleen Boyd and Austin Boyd of Memphis, great-grandchildren, Amber Vachon of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl and Aiden Boyd of Denver. She also leaves behind beloved extended family Pattie Lewis and Kim Schuerman Smith and children Ashley, Dylan, and Christy. In addition to the above mentioned family she leaves behind multiple cousins, niece/nephews, and lifetime friends and family in Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and military bases across the country. Due to her love of children memorials can be sent to LeBonheur Hospital NICU. Visitation is Saturday February 18, 2012, 5-7 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar. The funeral service will also be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
