I know this is random and long past due, but I am from Morristown Tennessee. At the age of 5 I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. My mother, who was an LPN happened to hear of what a wonderful physician Dr Hanissian was and we flew to Memphis where I became his patient for several years. I recall him and his wife Alice always showing such kindness and care when I was at his office. I was never scared, which means so much as a child who often frequented doctors offices. I just happened to think about him and looked him up to only see he had passed in 2021, which was also the year I lost my mother. I am now 48 years old and also work in healthcare. He will forever be an important part of my life and helped me so much.
This is a beautiful remembrance of a truly beautiful human being. It's been a great source of comfort and joy to be an unofficial part of this family for so many decades, and I'll always remember our gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving. We had some terrific conversations over the years, and Papa Hanissian was always so supportive of me, and of Marshall and Paul, not only in our personal lives, but also in our chosen professions (music, in all cases). I'll miss him.
