Anthony Wayne Emmons' Obituary
Anthony Wayne Emmons, age 72, of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully September 10, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was born in Sheffield, AL and was a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School. He attended Freed-Hardeman University and was a graduate of Lipscomb University. He received the J.D. degree from Memphis State University School of Law and practiced for many years in Memphis. He was widely known as a speaker, humorous and otherwise, in matters relating to law. He also was a preacher for Churches of Christ for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony E. Emmons, a minister of the Churches of Christ. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Emmons Flippo (Bill); two daughters, Celeste Emmons and Angie Emmons; sister, Toni Kelley (Lonnie); four step-children, Hanneke Saker (Marwan), Bob Johnson (Chris), Margaret Burkett (Mike), and Cindy Michael; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation to follow immediately thereafter.
