Anthony John Becker, Jr., Ph.D., age 68, passed away May 9, 2017. He was born June 17, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was most recently a professor at Rhodes College. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Marilyn Becker; son, An Read Obituary
Tony was great to have as a brother-in-law. We will miss his laughter and upbeat personality. We really enjoyed all the dinners together with him and Marilyn. Rich and Judy Rudez
I have been a very close friend of Marilyn’s for quite awhile. It was through Marilyn that I met Tony. He was always very cordial and humorous at the same time. I appreciate the fact that he was a very learned man and spent a good deal of his life educating others. I will continue to pray for my friend Marilyn and also the rest of Tony’s family during this time of great sadness.
As a former colleague of Tony’s at Mansfield University (PA), I have fond memories of his convivial gourmet gatherings. His wit and charm highlighted every event.
