Annie H. Ward's Obituary
Annie H. Ward, known by the family as “Good Baby” was born September 29, 1939 in Forrest City, AR to the late Woodrow Kidd and Annie Mae Coulter-Kidd. She was the eldest of nine children. She departed this life on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Annie believed in God and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She married Sammie L. Ward on August 4, 1957, from this union four daughters were born.
Momma (Mother) didn’t play no games when it came to discipline, whenever we visited someone’s home, we immediately sat down and didn’t touch anything.
She was beautiful, brave, strong, generous, loving and a woman of class. She loved to travel, go to the casino and laugh.
She worked several jobs over the years before she decided to be “The Boss.” She owned 2 grocery stores, (Faith Sundry), and loved it. She supported the community and was known as “Miss Faith”
She leaves to continue her legacy four daughters, Linda (Kevin) Tyler of Jacksonville, FL, Darlean Ward, Brenda Potts, Connie Ward all of Memphis, TN, three sisters, Bobbie (Calvin) Smith, Mary Frances Coulter and Linda Coulter; two brothers, Willie Lattimore and Cornelius Kidd, all of Memphis, TN and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one…the chain will link again.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 29 at 12:00 p.m. with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. all at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119. (901) 767-8930.
