Anne B. McCollum's Obituary
Anne B. McCollum, 99, passed away peacefully at home September 18, 2013 after an extended illness. She was born on March 30, 1914 in Woodland, MS to Howard J. Bullard and Minnie Lee Hill.As a young woman, she became a Real Estate Broker and worked for many years in the Real Estate Business, primarily at Marx and Bensdorf Realtors. In her prime, she was a Charter Member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and, after that, qualified for the Club for many additional years. She loved selling Real Estate but loved her family more, tirelessly working for their health and happiness.For many years, she was a member of Lindenwood Christian Church, although she was no longer able to attend services.Anne was preceeded in death by her husband of 38 years, Frank P. McCollum. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Eustace of Alexandria, LA and Katherine M. Eddings (Bill) of Germantown, TN. Survivors also include 3 granddaughters: Betsy Christofferson (Craig) of Dallas, TX; Lynn Sanders (Scott) of Alexandria, LA; and, Alex Walter (Bob) of Germantown, TN; 2 great-grandchildren, Maggie Walter of Germantown, TN and Spencer Sanders of Alexandria, LA.Anne’s greatest joys in her later years were family celebrations – birthdays, holidays, and mini-reunions. Her dog Muffy also brought her a lot of happiness. She had a lot of fun – she was always up for cooking and eating dinner, and having a party. Anne will be missed very deeply by all of her family.The family will receive friends on Monday, September 23 from 5 – 7 p.m. and also from 2 -2:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service on Tuesday, September 24, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue (901-767-8930).
