Anne Kitts' Obituary
ANNE McCAUGHAN KITTS, 84, of Memphis, died from natural causes on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. She was survived by her devoted and loving sister, Ruth McCaughan Morrison, formerly of Earle, Arkansas and now living in Germantown, Tennessee; her nephews, John T. Morrison (Cindy), W. Price Morrison, Jr. (Gray) and Joseph McCaughan Morrison (Brandon); her 12 great nieces and great nephews, Jennifer M. Miller (Trip); Claudette M. Hawkins (Brad), John T. (“Buddy”) Morrison, Jr., Ruth McCaughan Morrison, Dial M. Abernathy (Sloan), L. Gray Morrison, L. Price (“Pricey”) Morrison, Allison B. Morrison, Annie Ruth Morrison, Joseph McCaughan Morrison, Jr., Jane B. Morrison and T. McMurray (“Murray”) Morrison; and 3 great great nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. John Joseph McCaughan, Sr., and Ruth Thompson McCaughan; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. John Joseph McCaughan, Jr., and Carolyn M. McCaughan; her brother-in-law, William Price Morrison; and her nephews, William Morrison and John Joseph Morrison. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Although she was legally blind from birth, she persevered by attending Hutchison School, the Tennessee School For the Blind and the New York Institute for the Education of the Blind (now the New York Institute for Special Education). When physically able, she loved to attend family gatherings and greatly enjoyed helping her sister baby-sit her great nieces and great nephews. The family expresses its heart-felt appreciation to all those who have helped care for her, including Barbara Reed, Juanita Sullivan, Precious Simmons, Linda Stewart and especially Earnestine Dunigan who for years has been a trusted caregiver and wonderful friend. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, July 7, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. The family requests that any memorial gift be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
