Anne Holland's Obituary
Anne Sisson Holland, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the comfort of her Bastrop, TX home after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 24, 1931 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Mrs. Bessie Lee Brenner Sisson and Mr. William Eldridge Sisson. She graduated from Rosedale High School, attended Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus for one year. She later graduated with honors from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.On June 17, 1953, she married William Wendell Holmes, son of Oliver Wendell Holmes of Arcola, MS. and the late Mrs. Holmes and later raised three children. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband William Holmes of 38 years, daughter Judy Holmes, son John Holmes, brother Billy Sisson and her second husband of 20 years, Dr. William Holland.She is survived by her son, Matt Holmes and his wife, Donna Holmes of Bastrop, Texas and her fur babies, Dolly, Betty and Minnie Mouse along with extended family in Mississippi, Texas and Tennessee.Anne loved gardening, walks with her dogs, love of all animals and was an avid supporter of various charities. Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Robinson Creek Hospice. The care and support was beyond words. Additionally, thanks go out to CareSearch who assisted with our three angel care givers, Brenda, Taneisha and Nealia.Anne had an abundance of friends and neighbors that she cherished.
