Anne Marie Heuer's Obituary
Anne Marie Orgill Heuer, 94, born July 26, 1918 the daughter of Pauline Marie Darnell and Arthur Reginald Orgill, went to be with our Lord this 8th day of September 2012. She is predeceased by her beloved husband John David Heuer, her stepmother Mignonne Walker Orgill, and her sister Pauline Orgill Watkins. She leaves her sisters Stella Blocker (Vinkler) of Memphis and Mignonne Spellmeyer of Virginia. Anne Marie graduated from the Hutchison School and attended Southwestern University later Rhodes College. She was an avid horsewoman and one of her many pleasures was horseback riding at the old Fairgrounds and on the former riding trails in the centre of the Parkway. She also enjoyed showing her Uncle Fred Orgill’s saddlebred horses. She enjoyed tennis and skeet shooting, participating with the family in shooting tournaments across the Mid-South. Her flowers and garden were a special pleasure to her and bird watching was a lifelong interest. Anne Marie was a member of the Grandview Garden Club, the Junior League of Memphis, and the Tuesday Study Club. Anne Marie resided with her husband David in Havana, Cuba during the Hemingway years and then in Durban, South Africa where they enjoyed extensive travel. In recent years she lived on their farm in Eudora, Ms where she and David enjoyed their many animals including raising cattle. They moved to Hernando, Ms. where she and David were founding members of the Hernando Reformed Presbyterian Church. She had a love and devotion for her children Anne Heuer Snowden (John Bayard III) of Eads, John David Heuer, Jr.(Sandy) of Atlanta, and Christopher Frederick Heuer (Krissie) of Eudora. She leaves her grandchildren Paul Charles Craft, Jr. (Holly), Robert Bogardus Snowden, III (Mary Alice), Alexander Heuer Snowden, Christopher Frederick Heuer, Jr., John David Heuer III, Justin Sudler Heuer, Shelley Heuer Miksis, and eleven great-grandchildren. Anne Marie wants to be remembered for her faith in God and love of her Church. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon followed by a graveside service at 1:00, Wednesday, September 12 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., also on Wednesday, at the Hernando Reformed Presbyterian Church at 2070 Mt. Pleasant Road, Hernando, MS 38632.
