Anna Chrystine Bailey Douglas (Ann)'s Obituary
Anna Chrystine Bailey Douglas (Ann) passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany Mississippi on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Ann was born September 11, 1937, in Memphis Tennessee to Millard and Chrystine Bailey. Ann graduated from Hutchison School and attended the University of Mississippi where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a Christian and member of Central Church where she worked with the youth group, Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS), and enjoyed being part of the Senior Sunday School Class. She was a member of Les Passees, Suburban Garden Club, Melody Lane Garden Club, The Women’s Exchange and served for over 50 years with the Germantown Charity Horse show. She enjoyed attending her church, clubs, grandchildren and great-grand children’s events, crafting, watching football and especially rooting for the Ole Miss Rebels.
Ann was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and grandmother called “Granny Ann” but above all a child of God.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Chrystine Bailey, and her sons Richard Allen Douglas, Jr., and Randall William Douglas. She is survived by her son Russell Millard Douglas, daughter Christy Owens (Keith); eight grandchildren: Anthony Richard Douglas, Caitlin Shawn Douglas, Bailey Owens Poindexter (William), Anna Owens Thompson, Henry Keith Owens, Jr. (Cameron), Carly Brasher (Trevor), Chase Herring, Randall William Douglas III; nine great grandchildren; her brother Robert William Bailey (Susan), her brother and sister in law Bill and Nancy Douglas; nephews William Douglas (Jane), Joe Douglas (Joan), Bill Bailey, Jr., Joey Bailey, Mark Bailey and one niece Nancy France (Harold).
The visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 with services and burial immediately following at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
