Ann Whitebread's Obituary
ANN K. WHITEBREAD 103, Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Memphis, TN. Ann passed away July 7, 2012 at Ave Maria Home in Bartlett due to complications from a recent stroke. Ann grew up in Whiting, IN, along with one brother and two sisters. As a young lady, she moved to Memphis, working at the Army Depot. Later she moved to Chicago with one of her first jobs being with General Motors. It was there she met her husband, Mahlon Whitebread, who was a comptroller for Cadillac Motor Division. After their marriage, their visits to Memphis to visit Ann’s sister and her family became a regular event. The Whitebreads fell in love with Memphis and upon their retirement, Memphis became their new home. Her husband, Mahlon, preceded her in death in 1990, and Ann continued living alone, doing her own housework and cooking. She enjoyed working with flowers and watching the evening news. She moved to Ave Maria Home this year. Ann leaves nephews Dennis Katchmar, Fred Cohn Jr, and niece Mary Virginia Whitmire, and several great and great-great-nephews and nieces. Memorial Park Funeral Home, “Behind the stone wall”, 901-767-8930.
