Ann Speir Vance's Obituary
Ann Speir Vance, 94, of Memphis, TN, died June 23, 2014 at Allen Morgan Health Center. She was born May 18, 1920, in Birmingham, AL. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Borodofsky (Ted) of Paducah, KY; two granddaughters, Alison Drowota (Frank) of Murfreesboro, TN and Elizabeth Miller (Mark) of Nashville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Russell and Rose Drowota of Murfreesboro, TN and Max Miller of Nashville, TN. Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James L Vance. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Vance had a lifelong love of the arts. She studied painting at Corcoran School of Art, Washington, D.C. and later at Memphis Academy of Art. She taught painting for many years at the City of Memphis Hobby Center. A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 26. The Reverend Robin Hatzenbuehler, chaplain, will officiate. A family visitation will follow at 2 p.m. at the Gallery at Trezevant Episcopal manor.
