Ann Tillman's Obituary
After a brief illness Ann Kincaid Tillman peacefully passed into the Eternal Kingdom on Monday, October 18, 2010, eager to be with her LORD. For 59 years she was the loving wife of her adoring husband, Dr. N. E. (Ed) Tillman, who survives her. She was an extraordinary mother to their five children, for whom her absence will ever be an ache. The Tillmans made Memphis their home and for the last 46 years have lived in the house they planned and built for their family. Ann and Ed loved to entertain and their doors welcomed many friends, many times to enjoy both their company and Ann’s wonderful culinary talent. This home, filled with many happy memories, serves as a touchpoint of God’s great grace and providence. Ann and Ed exemplified the love that filled their home with laughter and a joy for life. This gift was imparted to their children and shared with all who came in contact with them. Her wit, wisdom, and laughter will be sorely missed. Ann’s life demonstrated her commitment to the importance of caring not only for family, but those around her, more often than not, through individual effort where she saw a need. Her compassion for those who were alone or hurting was not only a model to her children but became a way of life to them and thus her legacy continues. Although she was grateful for her children’s successes, this, their faith, and their families would rank as her fondest influences in their lives. Her memory will continue to live in the hearts of her husband, her children: Mr. and Mrs. Robert McComiskey (Lynne); Dr. John Eldon Tillman [Matthew (Sydney) and John]; Dr. and Mrs. Brad Germany (Jane)[Brad, Anna, and John]; Dr. and Mrs. David Dodd (Amy)[Garrett, Hope, and Colin]; Dr. and Mrs. Todd Fowler (Sally)[Sarah Catherine, Edward, Preston, and Elizabeth Ann];her sister, Dr. and Mrs. Al Morris (Carol) and her friends. We extend a special thanks to Brenda Kyle, Sarah Davis, Millicent Mabone, Trissia Overstreet, and Rolanda Jeffries for their unfailing kindnesses which enriched her life. The family would welcome you at the visitation on Friday, October 22, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. or the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Both are to be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis,TN. Ann would be pleased if those who wish to remember her would choose to send either flowers or a contribution to MIFA or Second Presbyterian Church Missions.
