Ann M. Cicala's Obituary
Ann Pettit Cicala died on August 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York, the daughter of Walter Roger and Mae Pettit who preceded her in death. Mrs. Cicala was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. She and her husband Edmond D. Cicala made their home in Memphis after moving here from New York. Her husband preceded her in death and also her grandson Christopher B. Cicala. Mrs. Cicala and her husband enjoyed taking part in many of the activities and events that they felt were important to help Memphis grow. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the Memphis Symphony League, the Memphis Area Women’s Golf Association, the Board of Woodlands Inc. and the Church Health Center. She is survived by her daughter Marianne and husband Jim Cooper, her son Roger and her son John and his wife Karen. Also her four grandchildren, Lauren Genet and her husband Mathew Skinner, Michael, Kristin and her husband Tyler Beckman and Drew and his wife Ann Marie, her three great granddaughters Emma Kate, Avery and Eliza Beckman and her sister Gloria Comstock of California. There will be a private entombment service at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Her memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 25 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation and reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Methodist Hospice.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119 “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
