Anita Rockett Jefferies' Obituary
Anita Rockett Jefferies, age 93, of Cordova Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday January 25, 2024, at Woodland Presbyterian Church with visitation preceding the service, beginning at 11:00. A private family burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Anita was born August 22, 1930 in Birmingham Alabama. She moved to Memphis as a child where she has resided since. Anita was preceded in death by her parents William and Myrtle Rockett, Her husband of 59 years, James Earl Jefferies, and her sister Liz Davidson. She is survived by her three children, Ann Christman (Frank), Nancy McLemore (Pete) and, Jim Jefferies (Nicole). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, 2 nieces Diane Abernathy and Betty Scalf, and sever great nieces and nephews.
Anita was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, Gramme, Gigi, aunt and friend. She was very active at her church, Outreach Choir, and her neighborhood association. She retired from the FBI in 2005 and also worked as a secretary for Saint Agnes Academy in the 70’s and 80’s. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
