Angie Henderson Griesbeck's Obituary
Angie (Ann) Brunini Henderson Griesbeck, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011. At the time of her passing, she was comforted by the love of her children, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Angie was born in Clarksdale, MS on February 18th, 1921 to Italian immigrants Harry and Catherine Gala Brunini. She grew up on a small farm and later graduated from Clarksdale High School. Angie married Mr. Roy T. Henderson Sr., a returning WWII veteran in 1946. They moved to Memphis in 1952, where Angie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, raising her three children and working at Big Star grocery store until she retired in 1977. She enjoyed traveling, especially to their summer cabin at Sardis Lake, MS. Angie spent 10 years as a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital and 20 years in the Altar Society and Ladies of Charity at St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was an avid bowler with a lifetime bowling average of 148, an excellent Italian cook, and gardener. Angie especially enjoyed and loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Twelve years after the death of her husband Roy, of 45 years, she met and married Joseph G. Griesbeck Jr. and was happily married for thirteen years. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Catherine Gala Burnini, two sisters, Rose Brunini and Josephine Brunini Grattafiori, one brother Joe Brunini, and husbands Roy Henderson, Sr. and Joseph G. Griesbeck Jr. She is survived by her son Roy T. Henderson Jr. of Germantown TN, daughter-in-law Carol Q. Henderson of Germantown TN, two daughters Ann Lane Henderson Hicks of Southport, NC and Catherine Lovette Blank McEwen of Nashville, TN, a sister Mary Brunini of Chicago, IL, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will hold a visitation on Monday, October 31, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass with be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Holy Rosary Church on Park Ave. with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
