Angela Kaye Tartera, a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving daughter, treasured sister, and steadfast friend, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at the age of 60, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, enveloped in the warmth of her family's love. In her final moments, Angela was doing what she cherished most: visiting her son in Baltimore. She was the adored wife of Alex Tartera and the proud mother of Kelly, who resides in Memphis, and Spencer, who now calls Baltimore home. A precious daughter of Mattie and David Kelly Sr., Angela now joins her beloved mother, along with several other dear relatives who have preceded her in the embrace of eternity.
Angela leaves behind her devoted father, David Kelly Sr., her beloved sister, Susan Griggs, and her cherished brother, David Kelly Jr. A precious wife and mother, she was also a steadfast friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Angela embodied the spirit of a true caregiver, never encountering a stranger and always ready to extend a hand of friendship. Her graceful embrace of life left an indelible mark on everyone she met, illuminating their paths with warmth and kindness.
Born in Memphis, TN, Angela entered the world radiating beauty, accompanied by a generous spirit and a remarkable talent for helping others. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis before advancing to obtain her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. As an independent medical records consultant for various assisted living facilities throughout Memphis, Angela devoted countless hours to meticulously reviewing charts and training new employees, ensuring they embraced the highest standards of detail and care. Her commitment to excellence was matched only by her unwavering dedication to those she served.
A long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Angela lived a life deeply rooted in her Christian faith, embodying the values of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion in every facet of her existence. Her favorite Bible verse was always the one she had just read, a testament to her profound and abiding love for the Scriptures. Overflowing with compassion, Angela was an unrelenting advocate for serving others, dedicating her life to putting the needs of others before her own. Each day, she sought a personal relationship with God, spending countless hours in heartfelt prayer. As a diligent prayer warrior, she interceded for everyone she knew, from friends to prayer groups and Bible study circles. Her relationship with Christ empowered her to approach strangers with boldness, forging new friendships and praying for them regularly. She shared the love of Christ through her gentle kindness, finding her greatest joy in revealing the boundless love of God to those around her.
Angela's unwavering passion for serving others was the driving force in her life. Thanks to the flexibility of her career, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to uplifting those around her, ensuring her presence at every possible opportunity. Whether it was a momentous awards ceremony or a spirited football game, Angela was a constant fixture, tirelessly navigating the town to champion every achievement, no matter how small. Her heart soared at the thought of a bustling home filled with friends and family, gathered around the table to share a meal. The joy of serving others was not just her calling; it was the very essence of her being, invigorating her spirit and illuminating her days.
Angela’s enduring legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As an organ donor, her generous spirit will live on, profoundly impacting those in need. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
