"Andi" Garhartt Swatts' Obituary
“Andi” Garhartt Swatts, 49, of Collierville, passed away on June 15, 2018. Andi was born in Troy, NY on October 1, 1968. She graduated from Lansingburgh High School. After graduating high school Andi joined the Navy as a corpsman. She is a 14 year veteran. While stationed in Charleston, SC she met her future husband as well as the love of her life, Doug. They have been happily married for 27 years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Doug; son, Doug Jr., Parents, L. John and Andrea Garhartt; brothers, Paul and Leigh; dogs, Heinz, Shadow, Moose and Star along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Andi was very active with her church and the Women’s Ministry at Hope Presbyterian Church. She was also involved with METAvivor, TN Safety Spotters, Cancer Card Xchange, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, The Arlington Trappers (coach) along with many other organizations and charities. Andi was passionate, loving, strong and hard working. She has inspired and encouraged so many people through out her journey of life. You wouldn’t know she was battling cancer over the past 10 1/2 years by looking at her. She always held her head high and accepted her battle. She never asked for sympathy. She would not accept failure. She succeeded in everything she felt driven to accomplish in her life. She had a passion and great love for animals. She was an amazing wife, mother, friend and coach. Anyone that met, knew and loved her knew her excitement for life, her service to the Kingdom and her deep belief in God. She won the battle and is now with our Lord and Savior dancing the eternal dance. She will always be with us in our hearts and she will be forever missed in our lives. Her legacy will live on with us that are left behind. There will be a visitation on Sunday, June 17th from 5-7pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 18th at 3pm at Hope Presbyterian Church 8500 Walnut Grove in Cordova. A reception will follow the Celebration.
