Amy Simpson Redmon's Obituary
Amy Simpson Redmon, 78, of Memphis, TN, slipped away peacefully on November 15, 2019, at her home, having battled with cancer.The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8150 Walnut Grove Road. The burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.Amy was born in Memphis to David L. Simpson, Jr. and Louise Allane Shuttleworth on May 12, 1941. She graduated from Central High School and Lambuth College and married David Carlisle and later Kenneth Redmon. Amy loved God and was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While she has been an editor, English teacher, church secretary, and more; the role of mother was always dearest to her heart. Amy is survived by her daughters Kathy Weatherford, Kristine Martineau, Karen Holman and their husbands; her brother Jon Simpson, her mother “Laney” Demetrio; and her 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Amy’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Sabrina Woodruff for her tireless and loving care.
