Amy Kerbecek Irons' Obituary
Amy Kerbecek Irons, 93, of Memphis passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Kirby Pines Estates. She was a graduate of Barnard College, received her Master’s Degree in education, retired teacher from the Memphis City School System, was a veteran WAVES in the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant, gave graciously to numerous charities during her lifetime and was a member of Holy Communion Episcopal Church. Mrs. Irons was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Irons; sister, Allie Fraser; brother, Arthur Kerbecek; and is survived by her son and his wife, Tom and Susan Irons of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Angela and Hunter Irons. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home-Memphis. The interment will be a private ceremony at Memorial Park Cemetery-Memphis. The family requests memorial be sent to Disabled American Veterans, 3440 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122 or The Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, 7901 Poplar Ave., Germantown, TN 38138.
