Alvin Groppe's Obituary
ALVIN F. GROPPE, 89, of Memphis, active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, retired from Cardox (now Air Liquide) after 35 years, died July 12, 2012. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 15 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service will be Monday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Ave., Memphis. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis. Mr. Groppe was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene Groppe, sister, Olga Pelser, and brother, Elmer Groppe. He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Harriett Groppe; daughters, Barbara Dorlac and Beverly Beyer (Robert); one son, Brian Groppe (Susan); one sister, Esther Peirce; five grand-children, Jessica Wood (Adam), Rebecca McKim (Brian), Allison Dorlac, Monika Groppe, Mariel Groppe; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Wood, Elena Wood, Julia Wood, Dylan Wood and Parker McKim. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Lutheran School, CTK Nehemiahs, or Crossroads Hospice.
