Alma Jeanie Stringer's Obituary
Alma Jeanie Stringer, age 74, passed on to her heavenly home late Saturday evening, May 12, 2018 at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Memphis.Jeanie was born on January 31, 1944 in El Paso, Texas. Her family moved to Blytheville, AR where she grew up. She moved to Memphis with her husband Don where she spent her life. Jeanie was a huge fan of the Memphis State Tigers Basketball team (before University of Memphis). She had a flair for fashion, which was shown in the clothes and jewelry she designed and wore. She loved sewing and was a member of several sewing groups in Memphis.Jeanie was preceeded in death by her husband Don Stringer as well as her parents, James and Alma Brittain Permenter. She is survived by two brothers, Buck Permenter and wife Donna of Memphis, TN and Ken Permenter of Ravenden, AR. Her contagious laugh will also be remembered by her cousins, neices, nephews, close friends and her cats whom she loved dearly.
