Alma Silverstrim Nau's Obituary
Alma Silverstrim Nau, 100, “Nana” of Cherokee, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022.
Born February 22, 1922, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Ethel (March) and Nelson B. Silverstrim, Sr.
Alma graduated from Williamsport High School class of 1939. She was the owner and operator of Nau's Store in the east end area of the city. She enjoyed reading, crafting, and being with and helping her family, she also loved classic country and bluegrass music. She belonged to two Dept 56 clubs and created a magnificent showcase with the houses and figures, hand crafting the landscapes.
Surviving is her daughter, Barbara (Nau) Spiecha (Walter) of Cherokee, Alabama; a sister, Mary Bigelow, of Williamsport, PA, 3 grandchildren, Robert Spiecha (Joyce) of Collierville, Tennessee, Dr. Brian Spiecha (Vicki) of Eads, Tennessee, and Jason Nau (Jennifer) of Houston, Texas; 2 great grandsons, Tanner and Tucker Spiecha, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christian A. Nau, her son, Richard A. Nau, and siblings, Nelson B. Silverstrim, Sr., Ralph Silverstrim, and two sisters, Margaret Dunlap, and Doris Rall.
Nana will be missed greatly but we are comforted to know that she is with Jesus and reunited with loved ones who passed before her.
The graveside service will be held Friday, September 16, at Memorial Park at 3 p.m. She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church, Eads, Tennessee. Memorials may be sent to the church.
