Allen Keith Saylor's Obituary
Allen Keith Saylor, age 69, of Germantown, Tenn., died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was born February 24, 1947, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to the late Jack and Ruth Saylor. He graduated from Detroit Country Day Preparatory School where he excelled in sports, including wrestling and football. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Michigan State University and began his career with the Holiday Inn Corporation. Allen worked in management positions in the industry, including at EdR/Allen & O’Hara, where he worked for the past 34 years.Allen also served as an officer in the Michigan National Guard after college. He was an avid sportsman and hunter who had a lifelong love of the outdoors which he shared with his grandfather, father, brothers and children. Allen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered as an outgoing and loving man by all those who knew him.He is survived by his wife, Wendy Saylor; his two children: Ashley (Hamilton) Eggers of Rossville, Tenn., and Jack Doyle “JD” Saylor II of Germantown, Tenn.; his two grandchildren: Lilli and Hamilton, Jr.; and his two brothers: Douglas (Diane) Saylor of Bay City, Mich., and Daryl (Marybeth) Saylor of Schaumburg, Ill.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis, Tenn.
