Allen Cox Dunstan's Obituary
Allen Cox Dunstan, 69, passed away January 5, 2017. He was born April 16, 1947 in Memphis, TN. Allen was a lifelong Memphian. He graduated from White Station High School before receiving both his bachelor’s and law degrees from Vanderbilt University. He returned to Memphis and began an esteemed 40-year legal career at Evans Petree Cobb and Edwards Law Firm. Over the last 25 years, he was a Partner at Harkavy Shainberg Kaplan and Dunstan Law Firm. Allen was very dedicated to his clients, making house calls and hospital visits to deliver help through tough times. Beyond his professional career, Allen leaves a legacy of commitment to community service having served on many community boards. Whether with his clients or his friends, Allen was always present with his smile and wry sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Dunstan and her mother, Alison Dunstan; partner and companion, Judy Parks; and nephews, Paul Dunstan, Gregory Dunstan, and Christopher Dunstan. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 and a memorial service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, January 12 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be sent to Church Health.
