Alice Williams' Obituary
Alice J Williams, 85, of McKinney, Texas , quietly went home to be with her Lord and Savior and loved ones on Tuesday, March 12. 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, M. H. Jamieson of Proctor, Arkansas and her husband of 10 years, J. C. Williams of West Memphis, Arkansas ; her parents E. M. and Stella Schmidt and three sisters, Clara Marie Schmidt, Martha Jane Drake and Betty Ann Gamble. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Rogers and husband Don of McKinney, Texas and Sondra Jamieson and husband Russ Manning of Knoxville, Tennessee, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Mildred Davis, Dorothy Ledbetter and Mary Dale Reed; numerous nieces, nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Alice was raised in Memphis, Tennessee and moved to Proctor, Arkansas in 1946 when her husband Hayes Jamieson returned from WWII. She was a member of Rosewood Methodist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas. Alice enjoyed going to Church, singing hymns and attending Gaither Homecoming Friends concerts, gardening and most recently playing bingo but the light of her life was her family. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee with Reverend David Moose of Rosewood Methodist Church of West Memphis, Arkansas delivering the service. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Hospice Plus, 3100 McKinnon Street, # 200, Dallas, Texas 75201Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
