Alice "Becky" Stallings' Obituary
Alice Beckett “Becky” Stallings, 53, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and teacher, passed away June 8, 2010. Becky was born in Fairfield, CA to Robert E. Davis and Alice Keys Davis, and grew up in Apopka, FL, Oxford, MS, Warrensburg, MO, and Memphis, TN. Becky is survived by husband Scott Stallings, daughters Emily, Lauren, and Sara, and son Walt, all of Memphis. She also is survived by mother Alice Davis of Germantown, TN, sister Merry Mariano of Collierville, TN, and brother Robert Davis of Bathesda, MD, as well as a large and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Davis. Becky was a graduate of Memphis State University, and taught at Shelby County Schools, Memphis City Schools, and Manheim Township Schools in Lancaster, PA. She was a lifelong lover of music, playing trumpet in the Memphis Youth Symphony and Memphis State Brass Ensemble. She later enjoyed drumming as well as supporting her son Walt’s musical endeavors. Becky was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where her parents were charter members, and where she and Scott were married 31 years ago. More than anything, Becky was deeply spiritual, loved life and people with her whole heart, and was a devoted and loving mother and wife. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, and service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, both at Asbury UMC. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
