Albert Lester Robinson's Obituary
Albert Lester Robinson, 89, of Bartlett, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19. Lester was born and raised in Pocahontas, TN until he entered the United States Army at age 19. He served in the 9th Infantry Division, and was involved in five major battles including the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. During these battles, Lester received various metals including the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Bronze Star which was awarded for performing heroic service above and beyond the call of duty. Lester was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and retired from Kimberly-Clark after 35 years of service. He worked many long hours to provide for his wife and children, whom he truly loved unconditionally. He loved working in his yard and found great satisfaction in having a large vegetable garden every year and once simultaneously won both the Bartlett and their neighborhood association Yard of Month award. Lester was preceded in death by his parents Rosco and Hallie Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Doris L. Robinson, his son James L. Robinson (wife Jennifer and children: Andrew, Lorianne and Carrie) of Bartlett, TN; and daughter Darla R. Lovett (husband Jimmy and children: Caleb and Kaylee) of Memphis, TN. Lester also leaves behind his sister Lessie Mills of Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Love Worth Finding Ministries or Bellevue Baptist Church.
