Albert "Gary" Hulett's Obituary
Albert “Gary” Hulett, 64, left this world to be with Jesus Christ His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Gary was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Corkern Hulett, and his father, Albert Dalton Hulett, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Goodlett Hulett of eighteen years, mother Marilyn June Hulett, and five children: daughter Amy and husband Mark Gustke, son Mark Hulett and wife Charity, daughter Rachel Anne Hulett, daughter Hannah and husband Michael Milam, and daughter Lydia Grace Hulett. He was known as Gramps by his grandchildren: Caleb, Maggie, Isaac, and Kyleigh Gustke; Ainsley, Grayson, and Paxton Hulett; and Christopher Milam. Also survived by his sister June Smith, brother Alan and wife Debbie Hulett, nieces, nephews and numerous other loving family members. He was a graduate of Ruston High School in 1970. He continued his education at Louisiana Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry, a Masters of Science in Pharmacology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and returned to Louisiana Tech for a Masters in Zoology. He was a pharmaceutical regional sales manager for Savage Laboratories, Altana Pharmaceuticals, and Novaquest for close to 30 years. Gary had many passions in his life. His faith was first and foremost. He enjoyed weekly Bible studies, men’s discipleship, Bible Drill tournaments, and led many through GriefShare classes. He lost his first wife through cancer after 14 years of marriage. Since that time Gary was pleased to come alongside others whom experienced such loss and reassure the grieving of the sovereignty of God. Gary loved people and never met a stranger. He participated in several mission trips to Central and South America including Brazil, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Everywhere he went, he would find common ground and share his personal relationship with Jesus. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. As the father of five children he wished to impart a legacy of love for God, country, nature, and people. He was most pleased when everyone was home sharing stories of their own families, praying, and praising together. History was Gary’s pastime. Yearly family vacations often centered around state parks, battle grounds, and historical landmarks. He thrived around American war history from colonial times through present day. Visitation will be at Grace Evangelical Church, 9750 Wolf River Boulevard, Germantown, TN on Saturday, May 6, from 9:30 to 11am with the funeral to follow at 11am. Gary will be buried at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.
