Albert Benjamin Greer's Obituary
With deep love and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Albert Benjamin Greer, who peacefully entered his rest on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Albert was born June 3, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee to the parents of Lawrence C. Greer and Ada Mae Robinson-Greer. He confessed his hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and held firmly to that faith throughout his life and he was a member of the Saint Paul Catholic Church. Albert was a man of quiet strength whose actions spoke louder than words. Those who knew him will remember his loving heart, gentle spirit, generosity, wit, unwavering support, and steadfast devotion to his family and friends. He had a special way of making others feel loved and valued, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
Albert graduated from Manassas High School in 1959 and attended Tennessee State University and Memphis State University. In his formative years, he enjoyed bowling, playing football, swimming and all sports especially college and professional football and basketball.
Albert devoted many years of faithful service to Coors Brewery, where he built a respected career before retiring after a long tenure. He believed in hard work, integrity, and providing for those he loved.
Above all else, Albert treasured his family. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his beloved wife, Louise C. Greer; his devoted daughter, Angela Fleming (Gifford); and his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Greer Fleming and Brea Nicole Fleming, who brought him great pride and joy.
He is also lovingly remembered by his nephews, Larry Greer (Fran) and David Greer (Jackie); his niece, Carolyn Greer; his sister-in-law, Robbie J. Greer; four great-nieces Launa Greer (Tennyson Ishiaki), Camille Greer (Mustapha El Ammari), Sierra Greer-Vickers (Shannon Vickers), India Greer, and two great-nephews; Austin Greer (Emma), and Jordan Greer (Hannah), one great-grandnephew Sion Vickers, and his extended family, Pastor Tommy and Jacqueline Brown, Jayquie Wooden, Jarinston Brown, Jarnysa Brown along with many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence C. and Ada Mae Greer and his beloved brothers, Lawrence C. Greer Jr. and James M. Greer.
While we mourn his passing, we do not mourn without hope. We find comfort in God's promise that those who have placed their faith in Christ will one day be reunited when Jesus returns. Until that glorious day, Albert rests peacefully.
His life was a blessing, his love was a gift, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
~2 Timothy 4:7.
