Alan T. Krayer's Obituary
Alan T. Krayer, 72, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on September 19, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, to John and Lois (Mundinger) Krayer.
Alan is survived by his children, Maggie Krayer Lucado and Brad Krayer; his grandchildren, Livi Lucado, Alex Lucado, and Cameron Krayer; and his siblings, Joellen Coleman Koester and John C. "Buddy" Krayer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Krayer, and his brother, Mark Krayer.
Alan enjoyed a long career in GSE Maintenance at FedEx before happily settling into retirement - finally free from the 4 a.m. alarms he so often joked about. A die-hard Memphis Tigers fan, he also found great joy in serving his parish at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Alan treasured his friends on his beloved BBQ team, Redneck BBQ Express, where he was a proud member for 32 years, and his weekly Thursday lunches with close friends was a highlight he never missed. Above all, Alan was especially proud of his daughter, Maggie, and delighted in every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He ended every phone conversation with "say your prayers, honey & give those kids a hug from Grandpa". He also cared deeply for his son, Brad, and held him close in his heart.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
