Alan Creedle's Obituary
ALAN LLOYD CREEDLE, 90, of Germantown, TN, a loving Christian husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on February 29, 2012. Alan was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Force. He was employed by the CSX Railroad in both Richmond and Atlanta. He graduated from the University of Richmond. He was a faithful member of Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church in Germantown, and he was an active Gideon for many years. Alan is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Dot Creedle; two children, Alan Lloyd Creedle, Jr. (Lori) of Swanee, GA and Marsha Creedle Spink (William) of Germantown. He took delight in six wonderful grandchildren, Wes Creedle, Carrie Creedle Wolfe (William), Will Spink (Christy), Peter Spink (Cameron), Mary Taylor Spink, and Kristen Spink, along with two precious great-granddaughters, Caitlyn and Allie Spink of Huntsville, AL. Alan had a zest for life expressed in his love for gardening, people, music, and family. He was devoted to the Lord and confident of his eternal rest. If it is “more blessed to give than to receive”, Alan was among the most blessed of men. A funeral service will be held at Riveroaks Reformed Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 3 at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Richmond, VA. Memorial gifts can be given to Gideons International or Riveroaks Church Missions Fund.
