Aileen Cathey's Obituary
Aileen was born in Vilonia, Arkansas on September 1, 1922. On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, she passed away at the age of 96 years. Aileen is now joyfully reunited with her parents, Clyde and Loraine Hogan; sisters, Freda Hogan and Patsy Ruth Bowie; husband, Bill and daughter-in-law, Brenda Benson Rubio. Aileen is survived by her sister, Sunny Steed Evans; sons, Ronn (Susan) and Jerry Rubio; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Aileen moved from Conway, AR to Memphis in 1963 and accepted a job as Executive Payroll Administrator with Holiday Inns of America, retiring in 1985. Aileen lived for her family; she worked for Holiday Inn. Aileen was a long-time member of the White Station Church of Christ and life-long Razorback fan. On Aileen’s 90th birthday she received an autographed football and personal telephone call from Frank Broyles, legendary Razorback coach. Her final days were spent with the beautiful nurses and caretakers of Kennington Pointe and Compassus Hospice. A celebration of Aileen’s life will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, 11 a.m., Friday, December 28. Visitation will begin at 10:00, prior to the service. Graveside service immediately following.
