Adrienne Cheatham's Obituary
Adrienne Freeman Cheatham, 77, died peacefully at her home in Germantown, TN on Saturday, December 19, 2009. She was born May 30, 1932 to the late Rayburn Hunter and Maxine Weiss Freeman in Jackson, TN. In her youth, she surrendered her life to Christ at Calvary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Jackson City Schools, graduating in 1950. She received her B.A. in 1954 from the University of Tennessee. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, Phillips (Phil) Cheatham. She was employed as a case worker for the Tennessee Department of Human Services. Mrs. Cheatham traveled with her husband and family extensively in their motorhome and also abroad, but her favorite vacations were when they all joined her maternal family at their clubhouse at Hatchie Station, TN. She shared the family tradition of hunting and fishing and appreciating nature. Recent winters were spent at Key West, FL. A family-focused Godly woman, she was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church Choir. Mrs. Cheatham was preceded in death by her firstborn, Charles Phillips Cheatham, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Phil Cheatham, of Germantown; sons, Ben Hunter Cheatham of Eads, TN and Dr. Charles (Chuck) Fielding Cheatham; daughters, Adrienne Leigh Cromwell (Kyle) and Lauren Claire Culpepper (Ed), both of Germantown; grandchildren, Christen Lundgren (Ricky), Adrienne Culpepper, Ashley Culpepper, Elizabeth Cromwell, Steven Cromwell, Nathan Cheatham, Christopher Cheatham, Caleb Cheatham, and Mallory Cheatham; and sister-in-law, Betty Brown(Leonard).
