Adelaide Potter's Obituary
Adelaide Harris Potter, widow of William Potter, an engineer with the space program in Huntsville, AL passed away, Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Memphis Jewish Home. She celebrated her 100th Birthday February 27th. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and a homemaker. She was an active member of the Lindenwood Christian Church and had been active in Eastern Star in Huntsville, AL and the P.E.O. both in Huntsville and Memphis TN. She served as P.E.O. chapter president in Huntsville. A long time resident of Huntsville, AL she moved with her husband to Memphis in 1992. She leaves a son, Dr. William A. Potter and his wife, Betty of Memphis, and a daughter, Patricia Potter, also of Memphis; four grandchildren, Laura Schriner of Memphis, Stephen Potter of Memphis, William Potter of Pensacola, FL and Julie Whitehead of Macon, GA; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. The visitation will be held from 10:15 a.m. Friday, June 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the funeral to begin at 11:00 a.m. also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
