Adelaide "Ad" Morris Andrews' Obituary
Adelaide “Ad” Morris Andrews passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 lovingly surrounded by her family.
Ad was born on April 27, 1919 at her family home in Tutwiler, MS to Robert and Ollie Mae Morris. Ad grew up in Rosedale, Mississippi. Due to the death of her father, Ad and her sister were placed in the Masonic Home for Girls in Meridian, Mississippi while her mother came to nursing school in Memphis. Ad always shared what wonderful memories she had in the Masonic home with all the girls.
In addition to her parents, Ad was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Warren “Pop” Andrews, three brothers: Robert Morris (Dave Ruth), John (Ruth), Bill Morris ( Dorothy) and one sister, Mary Richards (Ernest), and son in law, John Bramlett. Those left to cherish the memories are two daughters, Nancy Bramlett of Cordova, TN and Janet Fortune (Mike) of Savannah, TN. Ad had four grandsons that she loved dearly, Andy Bramlett (Stacy), Don Bramlett (Cheryl), Jason Fortune (Lesley), and Justin Fortune (Kara). Ad was thrilled to welcome the following great grandchildren to her life, Rebecca Bramlett, Rachel Primm (Scott), Hunter Turner (Meghan), Jordan Bramlett, Brandt, Brennan, and Elizabeth James Fortune, and Adelaide and Caroline Fortune. Ad also leaves a special niece that she loved as a daughter, Mary Carol Hart.
Ad attended Draughons Business College where she met the love of her life, Warren Andrews. Ad and Pop enjoyed a wonderful life with their family. Ad was a wonderful homemaker. Her home was a safe haven for her children, grandchildren and many of their friends. Her swimming pool was always full and she loved having everyone there. She was always full of joy and southern hospitality. Ad was a member of Christ Methodist Church, King’s Daughters, and The Theatre Memphis Stage Set. Ad was a collector of many beautiful creations and she was a maker of dolls. She had an incredible talent for all types of handwork that her family enjoys and cherishes.
Ad was a treasure to her family. She loved her family well and was always ready for a visit. Ad loved her Lord and spent time daily in her Bible.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until her service begins at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
