Ada Ruth VanLandingham's Obituary
ADA RUTH VANLANDINGHAM. Ms. VanLandingham, 84, a resident of Byhalia/Cayce, MS died Monday after a long-time battle with breast cancer. She was married to Dewey Reiss Vanlandingham who died in 1995. He served 22 years in the Air Force before retiring to Marshall County. She was a very active member of her community. She was a member of Cayce Baptist Church, served on the Cayce Volunteer Fire Department board, was awarded Citizen of the Year for Marshall County and worked for many years with the voting elections in Marshall County, MS. She was an avid gardener of day lilies, flowers, and vegetables and loved to sew and make quilts. She leaves behind a daughter, Brenda V. Wilburn and son-in-law, Michael Wilburn of Germantown; grandsons William Van Wilburn of Memphis, Michael Reiss Wilburn and his wife Stephanie Wilburn of Murfreesboro, and great-grandchildren Tristan, Talon and Tatum Wilburn of Murfreesboro. Visitation services will be held Wednesday, December 10 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar, Memphis; funeral services will be Thursday, the 11th at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southwoods Cemetery on Hacks Cross Road. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
