Sarah Jane Puckett
May 27, 1936 - January 7, 2022
Sarah Jane Puckett, (Mom, Mother, Mamaw and devoted friend) was called home to our Lord on January 7, 2022 at her residence of forty-seven years, in Germantown, Tennessee while under the care of her beloved family. She was born on May 27, 1936 in Colbert County, Alabama to the late Joe and Sarah Goins, who preceded her in death. On August 24, 1952, she married A.C. Puckett Jr., for fifty-three years before his death in May 2005. The immediate family consist of Deborah Puckett Vogle, Allan Puckett (Dawn) and Randy Puckett (Debra); six grandchildren, Brandy Puckett, Brittany Puckett, Glenn Collins, Tyler Vogle, Joshua Puckett and Jacob Puckett; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and also survived by her brother, Gordon Goins. Those who knew Sarah, would attest to her love and devotion to her family and selflessness of putting others first. She took joy in providing and cooking for others. Having been raised in the country, she could whip up most meals from scratch. Sarah came from simple means and led her life that way. Prioritizing relationships and memories over material items. Having picked cotton as a young woman, she was always aware of just how blessed her life has become. A.C. and Sarah enjoyed the outdoors and spent many weekends at the lakes or traveling the country, enjoying the parks and the beauty of our land. Especially after A.C. retired from International Harvester and purchasing their motor home. The family feels blessed this "simple" lifestyle and love for our country was passed on to them, as well as having a strong work ethic, high integrity and value of relationships over material things. The families memories will last forever, whether its from making homemade ice cream. sitting in the driveway, camping, fishing and especially holidays when the grandchildren were younger. Sarah was always at the helm of the movie camera, taking videos, which she later converted over to CD's for our everlasting enjoyment. Graveside services for Mrs. Sarah will be conducted on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Puckett family will receive friends in the Fireside Chapel on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, please consider a local charity or donating to the American Kidney Fund, kidneyfund.org. Sarah would take joy in offering hope to others with illnesses. That's the epitome of her life, loving, caring and devoted to others. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all more gladly of weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon. For sake of Christ, then, I am content with weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when i am weak, then I am strong.
