Marian Joy Russell

February 15, 1930 - March 1, 2022

Marian Joy Russell, 92 of Germantown passed away at home on March 1. She was the daughter of Jake and Myrtle Moore. She was married to the late Jack C. Russell Jr for 61 years. She was born on February 15th, 1930. She grew up in Memphis and graduated from Treadwell High School. She resided at her home on Ashton and developed lifelong friends during the 55 years at her home. She and her husband Jack were founding members of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. She worked at Graybar Electric Company in her younger years before having children. She became a housewife shortly after the birth of her first child. She went on to have 2 more children and remained a homemaker. She had a passion for cooking and sewing . She loved her family and spent most of her time with her church and grandchildren. She was a devoted daughter and daughter-in-law caring for both her parents and in-laws. She was generous and faithful and loved by all who knew her. She modeled a life well-lived and will remain in the hearts of those lives she touched. She is survived by Lea Ann Pampuro of Germantown, Craig Russell of Germantown, and Dan Russell of Memphis. She also leaves 8 grandchildren: David Kelley, Ashlea Barker, JC Russell, Jake Russell, Josh Russell, Joseph Russell, Madison Russell, and Anna Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 8. The visitation will be from from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warriors.
