Leah Booker, age 77, passed away Thurs Nov. 11 2021 at her home in Memphis TN. She was born March 7, 1944 to the late Charles & Leah Booker. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the Army Reserves & a retired ER nurse at St Francis Hospital, the infamous “Booker” as they so loved to call her. She was an avid snow skier who enjoyed traveling and was a huge fan of the Memphis Tigers. She was a devoted animal lover & was especially close to her dog, Zenni. Her legacy is one of love & tenacity. She lives on in the memories she gave us & the lessons she taught us. She leaves behind 7 siblings: Barbara Campbell, Tim Booker(Rose), Diane Brown (Dean), Richard Booker(Teresa), Jeanette McCrady(Tom), John Booker(Wanda) and Cecelia Booker as well as her best friend of over 30 years Mary Nell Phillips and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She had an especially close relationship with her nieces Rachel Helm (John) & Neesa Booker (Eric) & their children Madyson Helm, & Allie and Brooke Knolton. But there is no one she loved more than her nephew, Tim Booker whom she has cared for & lived with for the past 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Campbell, & her great-nephew Sam Brown Jr. A memorial service will be held at the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Park funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, 38119.
