Janice M. Fletcher, age 64 and a resident of Collierville, went to be with her Lord on April 20, 2020. Janice was a kind and generous person who loved to be with family, lavishing affection and attention on her nieces and nephews. Her family and friends have fond memories of her during their travels with her. She could always be depended upon to be in charge of the itinerary. Janice began a long career at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in 1985 in the Neurophysiology Department. She became registered through the ABRET in 1987. During her management years, she worked with many people in the EEG field through her training program, pushing all her trainees to excellence. She was the first technologist to perform Intraoperative monitoring at Le Bonheur and assisted doctors during spinal surgeries. Janice loved Le Bonheur and frequently used her time and money buying patients gifts and providing food for families. Additionally, she helped organize the first Zoo Boo, was one of the first organizers of the Memphis Barbecue Contest, and was a volunteer for numerous Le Bonheur telethons. She also served on multiple hospital fundraising committees and was a Board Member for the West Tennessee Epilepsy Society. She was a valued friend to Le Bonheur and the Neuroscience Institute. Janice is survived by her mother, Margaret Fletcher, her sister, Beverly Bain, her brother, James Fletcher Jr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her father, James Fletcher Sr., her brother, Wayne Fletcher, and a sister, Barbara Ann Fletcher. A memorial service for relatives and friends is planned at a future time.
