Mary Ellen Nicklas, age 84, passed away April 13, 2019 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. She was born April 7, 1935 in Walnut, Mississippi to Lester M. Eubanks and Christine Lanier Eubanks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas D. “Thano” Nicklas. She is survived by her children, Maria Russell, Christy Sharkey (Ed), and Bill Nicklas (Kelly); and grandchildren, Will Russell (Yezabel), Nick Russell, James Cornett (Megan), Mary Kaitlyn Cornett, and Thomas and Taylor Nicklas; and great-grandson, Isaiah Russell.
A genuine angel on earth, Mary’s life was a living example of how to be Christ-like, always being self-sacrificing and a caregiver of others. She endeavored to lead her children, family, and others to Christ and was a former bible study fellowship leader.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 11:30 a.m., all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests any donations be sent to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.

    So sorry for the loss of your beloved Mother….she will be with you forever…prayers for you & your family.

  3. Don and I are so sorry for your loss of sweet Mary. She will be missed by not only family, but many other people who knew her and her kindness. I know her strong faith sustained her through the final days after her stroke.
